Agora, o livro entrelaça os eventos - fazendo parecer que Anakin está em Mustafar matando os líderes da CIS ao mesmo tempo quando Palpatine está anunciando o Império no Senado , ao mesmo tempo como Yoda e Obi-Wan estão no Templo Jedi procurando um farol de recordação.
Todos os 3 tópicos da história começam e param e mudam entre si no Capítulo 19 "O rosto dos Sith" - significando que eles deveriam estar acontecendo de forma simulada.
Isto também é confirmado, porque Palpatine luta contra Yoda no mesmo dia:
