Soran está claramente tentando entrar no nexo para evitar a mortalidade própria e retornar a um momento (mesmo que virtual) quando sua família ainda estava viva.
Além disso, o nexo cria um sentimento artificial de "alegria" que é tão atraente que Guinan pensa que qualquer um seria tentado a ficar, independentemente de sua força mental.
Se a experiência de Soran é parecida com a de Picard e Kirk, então ele pode esperar que seja mostrada uma mistura de cenários que pretendem representar seus vários anseios e arrependimentos.
