Por que “Ralph Breaks the Internet” não tem “destroços” no título?

De acordo com uma entrevista que Post Crescent teve com Phil Johnston , o diretor do filme, na verdade é por causa de" quebrar a internet "ser" uma coisa ":

In one of the trailers there's a scene where characters talk about "Ralph Wrecks the Internet" versus "Ralph Breaks the Internet". Was that basically a conversation you guys had at some point?

Oh yeah. Of course. That one we were very well aware of, that people were saying "Why isn't it called 'Ralph Wrecks the Internet'", and wrote that as a response to that. That is an example of public opinion affecting our content, however those very conversations we had internally as well, why isn't it Ralph Wrecks the Internet? Oh cause you know breaking the internet is a thing, you know, that whole thing, yeah... we had those conversations in house as well.

"Quebrar a internet" é uma expressão comum usada para descrever algo que se tornou imensamente popular em pouco tempo, enquanto "destruir a internet" não é uma frase comumente usada (compare 1,2 bilhão de acessos do Google para o primeiro e apenas 73M para o último). Quebrar a internet é visto como algo positivo para o que quer que seja, enquanto a destruição não tem essa conotação ironicamente positiva. Parece que eles não querem mexer com a frase definida.

Eu definitivamente vejo de onde ele vem, mas aparentemente, o gatilho para isso veio do editor-chefe do site de notícias Collider.

Então eles deixaram cair a parte "Wreck-It Ralph" para manter o nome mais curto.

Talvez o motivo número um (que outros sugeriram, e eu vou em frente e dizer) para "quebra a internet" seja porque "breaks" é uma frase bem estabelecida, a Disney quer que seu filme pule para o topo de pesquisas no Google por "quebra a internet". Como disse Wang Nuclear acima: " (compare 1.2B acessos do Google para o primeiro, e apenas 73M para o último) ". A Disney sabe que os filmes populares são altamente ponderados nos resultados de busca, então eles querem uma fatia grande desse tráfego suculento, basicamente de graça. E não há nada de errado com isso, é um movimento inteligente de SEO (search engine optimization).
