Os borbotos funcionam para parar o tempo, embora inicialmente se pensasse que eram campos de força impenetráveis. Allison foi sacudida a fim de impedi-la de expor os planos do grupo que mais tarde se tornou a Autoridade da Paz:

Os borbotos fazem uma pausa dentro deles. Como tal, quando o bobble expira (depois de algum tempo passado), ela acredita que ainda seja o mesmo dia. No entanto, para o mundo em geral, esse foi o dia em que ela morreu. A cruz está desgastada porque está lá (fora da bobble) por 50 anos (mais ou menos).
