Sobre o Aprendiz Sith pegando um aprendiz

Não parece haver um pré-requisito pre para o Aprendiz Sith. O Aprendiz pode ou não ter um aprendiz de si mesmo. Se o Aprendiz não derrotar o Mestre e for morto, o Mestre escolherá um novo aprendiz:

The Master will train his apprentice in the ways of the Sith, until one day she must challenge him. If she proves unworthy, the Master will destroy her and choose a new apprentice. If she proves the stronger, the Master will fall and she will become the new Dark Lord of the Sith, and choose an apprentice of her own.”

Como o Mestre pode escolher um novo aprendiz, não parece importar se o Aprendiz Sith já tinha um aprendiz.

Outra citação explica o que acontece se o Aprendiz Sith tiver seu próprio aprendiz e o Mestre derrotar o Aprendiz:

“The Rule of Two dictates there can only ever be two Sith, so how can you take me as an apprentice if your Master is still alive?”

“If you accept my offer, you will accompany me as I go to face my Master,” Zannah explained. “But you must not interfere. If he falls, then I will take you on as my apprentice.”

“What happens to me if you fail?” Set wondered.

“If I die, my Master will need a new apprentice. If he judges you worthy, then you will replace me. If not …”

Mais uma vez, o Mestre pode escolher o novo Aprendiz. Aquele Aprendiz pode ou não ser o aprendiz falecido do Aprendiz.

O requisito para desafiar o Mestre, que é sugerido na citação anterior, é que ele deve ser uma batalha entre o Mestre e o Aprendiz em seu total poder e sem qualquer interferência de outra pessoa (como o aprendiz do Aprendiz). :

An apprentice had to earn the title of Dark Lord, wresting it from the Master in a confrontation that pushed them both to the edge of their abilities. If Zannah intended to challenge him only after he was crippled by illness and infirmity, then she was unfit to be his heir. Yet Bane was not willing to initiate their confrontation himself. If he fell, the Sith would be ruled by a Master who did not accept or understand the key principle upon which the new Order had been founded. If he was victorious, he would be left without an apprentice, and his failing body would give out long before he could find and properly train another.

Você lembrou corretamente que não poderia haver interferência entre o Mestre e o Aprendiz por um terceiro, mas não parece haver uma exigência de que o Aprendiz já tenha um aprendiz. Talvez a exigência extra que você estava lembrando é que o Aprendiz tem que atacar o Mestre em seu poder total, e que o Aprendiz deve iniciar a batalha.

Sobre a possível extinção do Sith

Eu examinei a trilogia de Bane e Darth Plagueis (os livros que têm a discussão mais completa sobre a Regra de Dois), mas não consigo encontrar nada especificamente sobre a possível extinção de os Sith enquanto há apenas um (porque o Aprendiz Sith acaba de assumir a posição do Mestre).

O mais perto que eu posso encontrar é a preocupação de Zannah de que Bane morreria prematuramente (quando ele estava perto da morte por envenenamento):

If he died now, everything he had put into place over the last ten years died with him. Zannah would have to start at the beginning. She would have to find and train an apprentice, even as she was still learning the full extent of her own abilities. She would be stumbling blindly forward, beset by enemies on all sides. It was almost impossible to imagine she wouldn’t make a mistake that would lead to her downfall … and the extinction of the Sith.

She couldn’t allow that to happen. For the sake of their order, she had to keep him alive.

Isso seria um sério revés para os Sith, especialmente se Zannah morresse também. No entanto, provavelmente não resultaria na extinção dos Sith porque os Sith são uma idéia , e idéias não podem ser eliminadas. Mais cedo ou mais tarde, alguém tropeçaria em um holocron Sith, voltaria para o lado sombrio e recriaria a Ordem Sith.

Provavelmente vale a pena mencionar que os Sith não estavam a salvo da extinção quando havia muitos Sith Lords. Indiscutivelmente, com muitos Sith Lords, os Sith estavam em perigo ainda maior de extinção, tanto do Jedi e lutas internas de poder. Lembre-se porque Bane criou a Regra de Dois:

Of all the Sith Masters, only Bane had understood the inescapable futility of this cycle.
