Comecei a ler ficção científica no início dos 60s quando menino, pegando emprestado livros da biblioteca. Em algum momento entre então e meu início de vida depois da faculdade, provavelmente entre 1965 e 1985, li um livro, novela ou conto que incluía uma cena muito gráfica em que os viajantes da Terra? encontre uma raça alienígena vivendo em uma cidade com um horizonte que apareceu de longe para "brilhar". Quando se aproximaram, perceberam que os prédios estavam realmente mudando em tempo real. Os seres ali continham o poder da telecinesia e o usavam para mudar tudo ao seu redor por um capricho. Alguém conhece a história a que me refiro?

Parece um livro de Alan E. Nourse que tenho em algum lugar; em italiano, o título é "Il Pianeta Grigio" (O planeta cinza), sendo o título original do 1957 Foguete para Limbo.
