Eu li O nome do vento alguns anos atrás e fiquei mal-humorado ao descobrir que os dois livros seguintes não haviam sido publicados. O segundo livro finalmente saiu, e eu quero saber se alguém sabe quando o terceiro livro será lançado.
O site do autor afirma que os livros 2 e 3 foram escritos há algum tempo e precisavam passar por algumas edições.

A partir de fevereiro de 2017 , o livro permanece no inferno do desenvolvimento . O autor, descontente com o produto final editado, aparentemente levou o livro de volta à prancheta para uma extensa reescrita.

PR: Think of any series that was wrapped up. Think of The Lord of the Rings, which has a pretty solid ending: Was everything wrapped up at the end of the third book of Lord of the Rings? No. That’s what happens in any sort of realistic world, in any sort of realistic story with realistic characters. There was some good closure in that book, but what happened with Aragorn, and Minas Tirith, and now that he was back? […] And what about Sam and his kids? What really happened to the Grey Havens? Did Frodo every bounce back from that? What did Gandalf talk to Tom Bombadil about? There’s a ton of unanswered questions—so yeah, that’s actually the mark of a good story, and so I won’t be answering everything, but the truth is, you don’t want me to. You might think you want me to, but you don’t. And even if you really do, I still won’t. Just because it’s impossible.
Eu fui a um livro de autógrafos para o Wise Man's Fear, em Borderlands, em San Francisco, e essa questão surgiu.
A resposta autoritária para isso do próprio Patrick Rothfuss foi, e cito: "Um ano huNDRED!"
Ele não quer dar um prazo apertado que pode ser perdido, eu acho que daqui a alguns anos.
Na verdade, ele diz em uma entrevista que seguiu o nome do vento que ele tinha as duas seqüências já escritas e planejava publicar em uma sequência regular. Na entrevista ele fala de "um por ano". Dado que o medo do homem sábio foi publicado quase 4 anos após o primeiro livro, ninguém sabe quando a parte final chegará às prateleiras (e quanta edição ele ainda está planejando fazer).
Ele afirma que gosta de muito tempo para editar e que seus fãs entendem isso. Dado isso, eu sei que o segundo não estará em brochura até o próximo ano, então talvez por volta de então? Não me surpreenderia se ele desse um tempo assim.
De acordo com Goodreads, King Killer Volume Três: As Portas de Pedra será lançado em 1/5/13.
