Ao ler o Pottermore escrevendo sobre Azkaban , tirei os seguintes destaques (ênfase minha ):

Isso é muito difícil, mas vou sugerir que, se eles foram criados por magos, nenhum magos sabe disso agora.

O artigo sobre Azkaban foi parte de seis novas peças de escrita lançadas por JK Rowling em 2014 como um http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news/161179/jk-rowling-releases-six-new-harry -Popular-histórias-mas-theres-a-catch "> Presente de Halloween para seus fãs , e ela nunca elaborou a história, nem mesmo via Twitter. Minha primeira teoria - de onde eles vieram: Pode ser que os dementadores são criados pela energia negativa que vem dos magos / o mundo mágico. Essa energia tem que ir a algum lugar, por isso manifesta e cria Dementadores, involuntariamente, um efeito colateral, se você quiser.

Segunda teoria: Eles se reproduzem pelas conchas vazias de pessoas cujas almas eles sugam. Os corpos dos ditos magos se transformam em Dementadores ao longo do tempo após o beijo do Dememtor?

Eles também podem vir de outra dimensão e um mago negro os convocou para o mundo físico, mas não sabia como mandá-los de volta?
