Não é tão fácil como uma mulher, não.

Como você observou, no processo de construção da Torre Negra, Taim ensina Rand como encontrar canalizadores masculinos. A única maneira de um canalizador masculino detectar a habilidade em outro macho é canalizar uma trama firmemente na presença do outro e esperar que a "ressonância" apareça. A cena deixa claro que esse é um processo tedioso e demorado. Se houvesse outra maneira de fazê-lo, Taim quase certamente o teria feito.

As coisas ficam um pouco mais fáceis se a outra pessoa se apoderar do próprio . Nesse ponto, outros canalizadores masculinos perceberão isso e, em geral, saberão quanto do Poder a outra pessoa está segurando. Ao contrário das mulheres, os homens não podem "ver" nada de estranho sobre o outro canalizador, mas sim, essa pessoa vai dar um "sentimento de ameaça" que aumenta quanto mais dizem eles seguram.

Há vários exemplos disso nos romances; na maioria das vezes, quando Rand está perto de outro canalizador poderoso, ele notará quando essa pessoa começar a usar saidin . Por exemplo:

Isso faz sentido; se os homens não pudessem ver os tecidos uns dos outros, seria extremamente difícil ensinar, e a Torre Negra é a prova de que os homens podem aprender muito rapidamente se tiverem a chance.

Os homens podem sentir um ao outro segurando saidin , mas nem sempre com muita clareza.

Um dos capítulos abandonados (o PoV de Rahvin, com ênfase minha) nos diz que mesmo canalizadores masculinos poderosos podem sentir um ao outro apenas "vagamente", mesmo quando estão realmente abraçando a Fonte, e muito disso:

Snatching at saidin, he filled himself with the Power, the taint on the male half of the True Source rolling off the protection of his bonds and oaths, the ties to what he knew as a greater power than the Light, or even the Creator.

[...]

Linked to saidin as tightly as Rahvin - this close Rahvin could feel it, dimly - Sammael eyed him warily. "I expected serving maids and dancing girls, Rahvin. Have you finally wearied of your sport after all these years?" Lanfear laughed softly into her wine.

E um dos encontros de Rand com Mazrim Taim (o PO de Rand, ênfase minha) nos diz que canalizadores masculinos podem sentir um ao outro abraçando a Fonte, mas - mais importante, para sua pergunta - que esse sentido "desvanece" quando o outro homem lançamentos saidin :

For a moment Taim only looked at him expressionless; then the Power flooded into him. Rand could feel the Power in Taim, though only a small amount, and see the thin flow of Fire the man wove. Taim seemed intent, but on what Rand was not sure; he seemed to be listening. A resonance, he had said. Rand focused, listening, feeling for - something.

Minutes stretched out with none of them moving a muscle. Five, six, seven slow minutes, with Damer hardly even blinking. The old man breathed hard, and he sweated so much he looked as though someone had upended a bucket over his head. Ten minutes.

Suddenly Rand felt it. The resonance. A small thing, a tiny echo of the miniscule flow of Power pulsing in Taim, but this seemed to come from Damer.

Ele também, em The Shadow Rising , não sente afinidade por Asmodean que está posando como um Gleeman no Desperdício de Aiel.

Não, os homens não podem sentir um ao outro. Mas o teste que eles usam é o mesmo teste que as mulheres usam para testar a CAPACIDADE de aprender a canalizar se a mulher não tiver a faísca. (EotW)
