Sua identificação é "FN-2187"; "2187" foi o número da célula em que Leia foi detida a bordo da Estrela da Morte no Episódio IV . Mesmo essa aparição do número "2187" foi uma referência a outra coisa: como um estudante de cinema na Escola de Cinema da Universidade do Sul da Califórnia (USC), George Lucas viu um curta chamado 21-87 , que foi uma grande influência nele e supostamente o inspirou a fazer seu primeiro filme THX-1138 ( que é definido na data 14/5/2187 ) e ele insere referências a ele (e a THX-1138 ) em muitos de seus filmes.
Na verdade, o conceito da Força também foi inspirado em 21-87 :

When asked if this was the source of "the Force," Lucas confirms that his use of the term in Star Wars was "an echo of that phrase in 21-87."
