Se Luke não fosse com ele, Obi-Wan teria morrido na Estrela da Morte e embora Vader provavelmente ainda tivesse projetado a fuga de Leia no Falcon, sem que Luke pilotasse seu X-Wing, as tentativas da Rebelião de destruir a Estrela da Morte teriam sido em vão.
Ben também acha que ele pode ver a vontade da Força em trazer os dróides para ele.
