Acho que esse filme foi lançado no início dos anos 2000. Tenho certeza de que não é mais recente que 2008: acho que já vi isso na época. Mais tarde, esqueci o título e não consegui encontrar de novo pesquisando palavras-chave do enredo.

Eu acho que é um filme muito bom, então estou colocando as peças de spoilery que eu lembro nas tags do spoiler.

O filme começa com uma equipe militar de humanos que pousou em um planeta alienígena. A história de fundo é explicada que os seres humanos estão em guerra com uma raça de alienígenas controladores da mente que foram quase exterminados, exceto neste último planeta, e esta equipe foi enviada para terminar o trabalho. O capitão de sua equipe missionária foi morto no acidente, e os outros precisam se recuperar para completar sua missão. Enquanto eles exploram o maior planeta da selva, eles continuam vendo esses crescimentos de cristal (como eu me lembro disso) por aí e têm essas estranhas alucinações por causa do controle da mente dos alienígenas.

The humans are actually under the mind control influence of the aliens the entire time. The crystals on this planet partially block the telepathy which is why everyone's suffering from hallucinations: they're real memories creeping through. It turns out the human-alien war was lost long ago and this planet has the last holdouts of the free human population, and the team was sent to try to kill them off. At the end, they encounter the clone of their old captain as one of the residents of the human colony, and one of the aliens telepathically admits what's going on.
