De O Senhor dos Anéis, A Sociedade do Anel, " A Sombra do Passado ", sabemos que Gandalf disse a Frodo:

there is not now any dragon left on earth in which the old fire is hot enough [to melt the Rings of Power]

Então, minha pergunta é esta:

O Smaug pode derreter o Um Anel?

Se ele respirasse fogo em Bilbo enquanto eles conversavam, o Um Anel teria sido destruído?

É mencionado várias vezes ao longo da história que o One Ring só pode ser destruído nos 'fogos de onde foi forjado'. Acredito que talvez outros Anéis de Poder possam ser derretidos por Smaug, mas provavelmente NÃO é o Um Anel.

Não, ele não pode. Enquanto alguns dragões tinham a respiração quente o suficiente para derreter os anéis menores de poder, Gandalf diz:

[...], nor was there ever any dragon, not even Ancalagon the Black, who could have harmed the One Ring, the Ruling Ring, for that was made by Sauron himself.
