Rita Skeeta suspeita que Bill Weasley tenha usado uma Love Potion em Fleur. Em relação às poções de amor em geral trabalhando em mulheres:

Além disso, na peça semi-canônica Harry Potter e a Criança Amaldiçoada de Jack Thorne, Ron dá a Albus uma poção de amor com intenção de usá-la em garotas (enquanto Albus tem um certo < em> 'gay vibe' na peça, não há indicação de que seja o uso pretendido da poção)

Também vemos que o componente do cheiro da Amortentia (uma poderosa Love Potion) funciona nas fêmeas:

“It’s the most powerful love potion in the world!” said Hermione.

“Quite right! You recognized it, I suppose, by its distinctive mother-of-pearl sheen?”

“And the steam rising in characteristic spirals,” said Hermione enthusiastically, “and it’s supposed to smell differently to each of according to what attracts us, and I can smell freshly mown grass and new parchment and-”

But she turned slightly pink and did not complete the sentence.

Same Sex - Desconhecido

Eu não acho que existam exemplos canônicos de Amortentia ou qualquer outra Love Potion sendo usada em um mesmo cenário de sexo, considerando que o único personagem LGBT que conhecemos é Dumbledore.

Desconhecido. Tanto quanto sei, não há referências em nenhum dos livros, filmes, material suplementar ou entrevistas que lidam com a questão de uma poção do amor ser usada em .. .

• Alguém do mesmo sexo que o fabricante de poções (ou)
• Uma mulher.

Adivinhação

Meu instinto é que uma poção do amor funcionaria em praticamente qualquer pessoa , no entanto uma poção usada para criar uma paixão pelo mesmo sexo, quando usada em alguém heterossexual (ou vice-versa) provavelmente seria executada muito rapidamente, já que o objeto de seu afeto seria profundamente desagradável para eles:

‘There you go,’ said Fred proudly. ‘Best range of love potions you’ll find anywhere.’
Ginny raised an eyebrow sceptically. ‘Do they work?’
‘Certainly they work, for up to twenty-four hours at a time depending on the weight of the boy in question –’

Notavelmente, em uma entrevista JKR indicou que bruxos e bruxas poderiam tomar poção do amor e que os cientistas bruxos poderiam estudar os efeitos. Nenhuma indicação foi dada sobre quais foram esses efeitos:

That's what they would've found in the Love Room. So you would see wizards and witches taking it, they would study the effects.

Então a poção do "amor" nem gera desejo sexual. Isso só te deixa muito obcecado por outra pessoa. Atração sexual seria o resultado usual de tal obsessão, porque é "natural" para os humanos.

É possível que alguém se sinta obcecado por outro do mesmo sexo sem qualquer poção e sem ser gay ou ter desejos sexuais. Há muitos exemplos de alguém sendo admirado por suas conquistas ou habilidades.

Portanto, não vejo problema em que a poção do amor funcione para cenários de "homem para mulher", "mulher para homem", "homem para homem" e "mulher para mulher". Ainda assim, pode não ter o efeito desejado (ou seja, atração sexual). Tudo vai depender de:

• força da poção
• quantidade de poção tomada
• o desejo "normal" da pessoa por tais coisas

Eu prefiro especular que um homem heterossexual será muito improvável de sentir desejo sexual por outro homem, mesmo sob o efeito de uma strong poção de amor. Ele ficará muito obcecado - sim - mas não sexualmente atraído. Um homossexual do outro lado também sentirá atração sexual.

O único exemplo de alguém tomando uma poção de amor é Ron em HPHBP e o remetente era Romilda Vane. Funcionou "como esperado" porque:

1. Ron é heterossexual
2. Romilda é uma garota atraente

Outro exemplo de 'semi-canon' seria Merope Gaunt e Tom Riddle Sr. Se a sedução foi feita por poção de amor, então deve ter sido strong e ter sido tomada em quantidades apropriadas. Funcionou de novo porque Merope, apesar de não ser muito atraente, é uma mulher e Tom Riddle é heterossexual.
