Tenho cópias de livros que, entre eles, afirmam ser a história e a poesia completas de Lovecraft. Não encontro menção a Carcosa neles. Lovecraft realmente incorporou Carcosa em seus mitos?
Ele não fez, pelo menos não em seus trabalhos destinados à publicação. (Suas cartas podem ser outra questão.) Não há menção a Carcosa em nenhuma de suas obras de ficção ou poesia. Uma pesquisa de neste arquivo GitHub das obras de Lovecraft apareceu nenhum resultado para "Carcosa". (Para minha surpresa adicional, também não consegui encontrar nenhuma referência a um "rei de amarelo"!)
É possível que esse corpus do GitHub possa ser considerado incompleto; não inclui as histórias para as quais ele contribuiu em termos editoriais ou de fantasmas, e sempre há a chance de o compilador ter perdido alguma coisa. É difícil provar um negativo, mas nenhuma evidência do positivo está se revelando para mim.
O único elo explícito entre Lovecraft e Um habitante de Carcosa parece ser via O rei de amarelo. Uma lista de entidades eldritch em O Sussurro na Escuridão inclui "Hastur" e "o sinal amarelo", ambos exibidos em O rei em amarelo em primeiro lugar.
