Com base nisso questão sobre o primeiro nome de Palpatine ser Sheev, eu tenho uma pergunta de acompanhamento sobre Sidious ser o nome Sith dele. Quando ele deu o nome Sith aos seus aprendizes Dookan e Anakin, ele o concedeu; Darth Tyranus e Darth Vader, respectivamente.

Seu nome foi escolhido por seu mentor Darth Plageuis, presumivelmente por causa de sua natureza insidiosa.
