Por que Obi-Wan ignora Yoda?

Eu acho que é basicamente exatamente como o diálogo dele indica, ele acha que ele "deve saber a verdade" mesmo que isso lhe traga dor. Isso se encaixa com o que sabemos de sua força moral e disposição para suportar a dor, sua inclinação para não obedecer cegamente ao que lhe é dito por seus superiores (uma característica sem dúvida nutrida por Qui Gonn) e seu desejo de entender.

Primeiro , ele acredita que precisa saber o que aconteceu (embora ele já pareça suspeitar disso). De Revenge of the Sith :

OBI-WAN: Wait, Master. There is something I must know . . .

YODA: If into the security recordings you go, only pain will you find.

OBI-WAN: I must know the truth, Master.

Segundo , a novelização oferece algumas dicas adicionais sobre sua motivação:

“Seeing will only cause you pain.”

“Then it is pain that I have earned. I won’t hide from it.” He keyed a code that brought up a holoscan of the Room of a Thousand Fountains. “I am not afraid.”

Obi-Wan parece sentir que ele merece a dor que o vídeo vai lhe trazer. Ele já suspeita do que vai mostrar e lamenta sua parte nisso. Como Yoda diz antes:

Obi-Wan rose. “I will learn who did this.”

“Learn?”

Yoda shook his head sadly.

“Know already, you do,” he said, and hobbled off into the gloom.
