Is silence good 5e?
In our games, we've been finding the Silence spell to be relatively useless against spellcasters because they can just move out of the area of silence to do their casting. There doesn't seem to be a way to create a silence effect that moves with the target.
Does silence stop concentration spells?

Not even Strahd can get out, that is his curse. On a related note, there is only one confirmed character to have ever escaped Barovia. It was Vecna, in a time before he became a god. This is old D&D history and is not mentioned in the module.
Can you summon in Barovia?
Magic that summons creatures or objects from other planes functions mostly normally in Barovia, as does magic that allows one to cross into the Border Ethereal (such as the spell Etherealness or the Etherealness feature possessed by some creatures) or involves an extradimensional space (such as that created by How do you escape ravenloft? So, there are no specific ways to escape. You escape when the Dark Powers are done with you, once you have served your purpose of extending the suffering of the dark lord imprisoned there.
Does Etherealness work in Barovia?
So yes, Buch can use the Ethereal Stride feature, yes the Night Hags can use the Nightmare Haunting Feature. Can you escape Demiplane? Yes, you can trap yourself.
The destination of Demiplane is always a demiplane, either newly-created or preexisting and familiar to you. By recasting the spell you could return to any demiplane familiar to you, but not to a non-demiplane such as the Prime Material.
Can you end Demiplane early?
No, you cannot end the effect of Demiplane early. It is not a concentration spell, so you can't just stop concentrating to drop the effect. No part of its effect allows it to end prematurely at-will, either. You'd need to either ensure the bandit is inside the demiplane when the spell expires.
