Why do Rangers have spells?
SPELLS. As mentioned earlier, Rangers have access to spells and some spellcasting abilities. This isn't to say that they are fantastic ninja forest wizards (those are Druids) but their magic allows them to gain an edge in situations that arrows can't solve on their own.
Can a wooden shield be a druidic focus?
Can this items be a wooden shield? RAW, no. The only classes that can put a spellcasting focus on a shield are Cleric & Paladin. Do Druids need materials to cast spells? Sorcerers (with Subtle Spell) and Druids (at L20 via Archdruid) can get around verbal and somatic components, but pretty much everybody else is stuck with them. Spells cast from magic items don't need the components at all, though the specific item may impose other requirements.
Can my druidic focus be a quarterstaff?

Druidic was actually a language subgroup composed of two distinct but similar languages. The vast majority of druids spoke Drueidan; those from the Moonshaes spoke a language called Daelic. What is a totem in D&D? A totem was a symbolic representation of a spirit. They were typically used in barbarian tribes and beast cults. The practice was most common in the North, and they were often considered just as sacred as what they represented.
Is druidic focus the same as Arcane Focus?
Different casters have different focuses. Druids use a Druid Focus, Wizards and Sorcerers use Arcane Focus, and so forth. A character is not tied or attuned to any particular focus.
