Em Harry Potter e a Câmara Secreta , Percy discute com Ron quando ele pega Ron e Harry em um corredor à noite, e diz a ele, "Cinco pontos da Grifinória". / strong> No entanto, em Ordem do Phoenix , afirma que os membros do Esquadrão Inquisitorial, "ao contrário dos prefeitos," podem tirar pontos das casas.

Percy estava blefando? Ou isso é apenas uma pequena inconsistência nos livros? Eu prefiro pensar que Percy só queria fingir, já que ele amava o sentimento de poder e autoridade, mas eu não sei de nenhuma outra explicação.

Answer: Ron got it wrong in 'Phoenix', from which we deduce that he hasn't been a very authoritarian prefect thus far; he clearly hasn't been taking points from anybody.

There was some confusion about the point-taking ability of prefects after the original release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It had previously been stated in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that prefects could dock points, but in a scene in the first printing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Ron Weasley, Ernie Macmillan, and Draco Malfoy all either state outright or imply that prefects are not allowed to take points. This was pointed out as a mistake, and subsequent printings had a slightly different version of the dialogue, making it clear that prefects can take points, just not from other prefects.

Apenas especulação, mas talvez porque Percy estava na Grifinória ele foi autorizado a tirar pontos de sua própria casa em punição, muito parecido como quando Harry foi ameaçado de expulsão foi McGonagall que manteve essa decisão, e não Snape. Eu imagino que a escola colocou isso em prática para que os monitores não abusassem de seu poder, embora eu não consiga lembrar que isso seja explicitamente declarado no cânon.

Provavelmente a regra foi alterada. Ou talvez os monitores só pudessem tirar pontos de sua própria casa.
