Desde que foi a primeira vez que Hermione lançou o feitiço, e sua intenção era apenas apagar a memória de Dolohov de ver Harry, ela provavelmente não apagou toda a memória de Dolohov (como o feitiço de contra-ataque fez com Gilderoy Lockhart.

Parece bastante claro a partir do livro que eles deliberadamente apagaram apenas a memória da briga e não as outras memórias dos Comensais da Morte. Considere o seguinte diálogo do capítulo nove:

"Brilliant!" said Harry, clapping her on the back. "Take care of the other one and the waitress while Ron and I clear up."

"Clear up?" said Ron, looking around at the partly destroyed café. "Why?"

"Don’t you think they might wonder what’s happened if they wake up and find themselves in a place that looks like it’s just been bombed?"

"Oh right, yeah..."

Como podemos ver nessa troca, o que eles queriam fazer era ter certeza de que ninguém perceberia que algo havia ocorrido e, o mais importante, ninguém perceberia que eles estavam lá. Eles escolheram não matar os Comensais da Morte por este motivo - dois Comensais da Morte mortos em um café são muito suspeitos e informariam imediatamente o lado de Voldemort que houve algum tipo de confronto com forças opostas.

Limpar totalmente suas memórias (a ponto de serem incapazes de realizar magia) seria uma opção ruim. Se dois Comensais da Morte forem descobertos totalmente fora de si, isso também aponta imediatamente para uma altercação com a oposição. Portanto, tudo o que fizeram foi remover as memórias do incidente em si, para que os Comensais da Morte pudessem seguir seu caminho alegremente sem que as suspeitas de ninguém fossem levantadas.

De qualquer forma, o plano não funcionou tão bem, como veremos mais adiante (mesmo capítulo) que Voldemort descobriu que os Comensais da Morte estavam com Harry Potter:
