Por que os Três Anéis Élficos estavam sujeitos à vontade de Sauron?

Celebrimbor aprendera a fazer Anéis de Poder pelo próprio Sauron. Mesmo que Sauron não estivesse no quarto quando ele fez o Três, ele ainda estava usando as técnicas de Sauron. Presumivelmente, Sauron o ensinou a criar anéis de tal forma que qualquer coisa que ele produzisse ainda fosse subserviente ao Um Anel.

Para usar uma analogia: Suponha que eu ensinei alguém a criar um programa de computador, enquanto secretamente deixo em um backdoor de aparência inócua para mim. Mesmo que meu aluno tenha criado um programa menor e um pouco diferente, eu provavelmente ainda poderia hackeá-lo, porque sei tudo sobre codificação que eles fazem. E como eles não sabem sobre o backdoor, eles podem até mesmo replicá-lo.

Ou pense assim: você acredita honestamente que Sauron poderia ter ensinado a seus inimigos como criar armas mágicas poderosas sem alguma maneira de garantir que essas armas nunca pudessem ser usadas contra ele?

Sauron fez o Anel especificamente para controlar os outros; até mesmo diz no próprio Ring:

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.[emphasis on the Ring's enscription]

In those days the smiths of Ost-in-Edhil surpassed all that they had contrived before; and they took thought, and they made Rings of Power. But Sauron guided their labours, and he was aware of all that they did; for his desire was to set a bond upon the Elves and to bring them under his vigilance.

Now the Elves made many rings; but secretly Sauron made One Ring to rule all the others, and their power was bound up with it, to be subject wholly to it and to last only so long as it too should last...Therefore the Three remained unsullied, for they were forged by Celebrimbor alone, and the hand of Sauron had never touched them; yet they also were subject to the One.
