Dave initially avoids her and rejects her advances, but after some time he marries her and they live together on his farm.

Over the years Phil assists her in artificially aging her features to match the changes that occur in her human husband. When Dave inevitably dies, she sends a letter to Phil asking him to dissolve her metallic structure and bury her remains with her husband. She begs him not to let anyone discover their secret. Eu listo isso porque sugere strongmente o potencial do amor humano / andróide, mesmo que nunca chegue lá. O filme seria Metropolis (1927).

Não cabe inteiramente porque a avenida do romance nunca é totalmente explorada como parte da história (nunca vemos o robô retribuir o amor). No entanto, vemos que o robô é feito para parecer e agir de forma idêntica a uma mulher real (incluindo emoções). Há todas as indicações de que Rotwang, o criador do robô, pretendia manter um relacionamento com o robô (em certo ponto, Rotwang até confunde a mulher, cuja semelhança ele havia dado ao robô, por sua esposa morta e a seqüestra).
