Após a Batalha dos Campos de Pelennor, Aragorn desembainha sua espada Andúril e diz:

"You shall not be sheathed again until the last battle is fought."

A data é 15 de março; a "última batalha" que ele tem em mente é, presumivelmente, a Batalha do Portão Negro, que ocorre dez dias depois, em 25 de março.

O que Aragorn fez com Andúril por 10 dias? Ele passou os dois primeiros dias em seu acampamento fora dos portões de Minas Tirith, e nos sete dias seguintes viajando de Minas Tirith até o Portão Negro.

Truly, I tell thee, though I fear it be of no comfort now - My bad, dog".

Aragorn está dizendo que a próxima vez que ele desenhar e usar sua espada será para a última batalha. Claro, depois que essa batalha for travada, ele embainhará sua espada. É que está se referindo. Então, quando ele diz "embainhado de novo", ele está se referindo a um invólucro que irá ocorrer após o revestimento que ocorrerá quando ele terminar de falar.

Disse outro jeito:

Aragorn puxa sua espada Andúril e diz: [Uma vez que eu terminar de falar, eu vou te cobrir. Depois disso, você não será embainhado novamente até que a última batalha seja travada ".

Ele estava falando figurativamente.

Obviamente ele não planejava manter sua espada desembainhada, por razões de segurança em vários níveis diferentes, pelos muitos dias que obviamente levaria até que ele alcançasse a última batalha.
