Aegon I Targaryen, também conhecido como Aegon, o Conquistador foi o único (juntamente com suas irmãs / esposas Rhaenys e Visenya) que uniu os Sete Reinos através do uso de seus dragões, Balerion, Meraxes e Vhagar. A quem se refere Ser Barristan.

Aegon tem sido usado inúmeras vezes desde (pelo menos 12) na família Targaryen. Muito parecido com uma família real real, os nomes populares são reutilizados.
