Leia este livro há alguns anos, era uma trilogia, a última das quais foi lançada em algum momento entre o 2008-2016. Autor feminino, eu acho.

A personagem principal é uma garota, talvez nos seus 20s, uma bruxa de algum tipo, mas ela tem que manter isso em segredo, porque não deveria haver bruxas sobrando.

O principal conflito são essas criaturas gigantes, voadoras e hipnotizantes, semelhantes a libélulas, que começaram a aterrorizar a terra. Se você olhar diretamente para eles, está hipnotizado e não pode se mover, e eles o matam.

Há uma série de pilares na região norte do país, que todo mundo odeia se aproximar, que costumava esconder essas coisas de libélula, os pilares estão decaindo, e por isso as libélulas estão passando.

Os pilares foram supostamente feitos pelas bruxas, que se sacrificaram para fazê-las, mas no último livro, todas as bruxas foram forçadas a fazê-lo contra sua vontade.

Os elementos não combinam completamente com o IIRC. Não havia bruxas até o personagem principal se tornar um. Havia usuários de magia masculina, havia criaturas voadoras que eram muito ruins e havia um escudo no lugar.
