Com as teorias "os últimos Jedi" por aí, o Jedi não é mais ou menos uma certificação ou título concedido pela ordem Jedi (análogo a ser cavaleiro)?

Se sim, então não é Lucas tecnicamente não um Jedi desde que a ordem Jedi não o proclamou como um Jedi?

Pode-se apenas supor que Jedi significa "usuários de força do lado da luz". Se for esse o caso, certamente um "mestre" requer algum tipo de certificação. Talvez Lucas seja um Jedi, mas ele não é um Mestre Jedi? Anakin estava chateado por estar no conselho sem ser reconhecido como um Mestre.

Quanto ao título "Return of the Jedi", poderia ser simplesmente Anakin voltar ao lado da luz.

Ele é um Jedi

Na ausência do conselho Jedi, o único sobrevivente foi o Grão-Mestre Yoda, depois que Obi-Wan Kenobi morreu no duelo com Darth Vader. Então Yoda poderia ter anunciado Luke como Jedi, mas não teve tempo, pois ele morreu prematuramente.

No entanto,

Luke quase completou seu treinamento com Yoda, então ele teve um treinamento Jedi adequado, apesar de incompleto.

Esta é uma questão interessante, porque ninguém dá título a Lucas, porque não há nenhuma ordem para concedê-lo. No entanto, Luke é o retorno do Jedi, e ele tem o treinamento e capacidades, para ser um mestre Jedi, depois que ele derrotou Vader.

Existem algumas teorias, que ele estabeleceu o Antigo Conselho Jedi novamente, e estava treinando jovens, até que seu sobrinho virou-se para o lado negro, e matou a ordem e os filhotes. Talvez possamos ver isso em The Last Jedi como um flashback ..

Yoda (o único Mestre Jedi remanescente) estabelece uma pré-condição muito específica para que Luke seja chamado de Jedi, que ele tenha que enfrentar Vader.
