What is the goodberry spell?
Goodberry was a transmutation or alteration/evocation spell that turned a few berries into a magical food that could cure minor wounds and/or provide a healthy creature with the equivalent of a full meal. The reverse of this spell, badberry, created a poisonous food that had the same effect as inflict minor wounds.
What does goodberry do 5e?
Up to ten berries appear in your hand and are infused with magic for the Duration. A creature can use its action to eat one berry. Eating a berry restores 1 hit point, and the berry provides enough nourishment to sustain a creature for one day. Can you feed a goodberry to an unconscious character? Goodberry requires someone to use their own action to eat the Goodberry, which one can't do if one is unconscious.
What happens if you plant a goodberry?
Combined with Create/Destroy Water, Goodberry could allow a Druid to lead a significantly larger tribe in a desert or similarly harsh climate than you could ever have in the real world. Can you cast goodberry at a higher level? Goodberry can be cast with any spell slot you have access to
When a spellcaster casts a spell using a slot that is of a higher level than the spell, the spell assumes the higher level for that casting. So, luckily spells do not need a cast at higher level footnote.
Who can cast goodberry?
You can cast the cantrips at will as normal and the 1st level spell once per long rest. So a wizard can take magic initiate Druid, choose goodberry and also gain access the ever useful guidance cantrip (plus one other Druid cantrip of your choice). Does goodberry provide water? the Goodberries do not contain water, just juice, and therefore, the gallon of water requirement is not met.
Is Gooseberry a berry?
The fruits of currants and gooseberry are true berries with the seeds enclosed in a fleshy pericarp. The berries are born in clusters, with every single fruit adjoined to the main strig by a short stem. The fruits ripen in order along the strig, the fruit closest to the branch first and the terminal last. Can you eat multiple Goodberries? Can you drink a potion while unconscious?

The DMG section which give the general rule for potions includes (p. 139): Drinking a potion or administering a potion to another character requires an action. With no mention of the character/creature needing to be conscious.
