Why did Matt Mercer make Bloodhunter?

Originally, Mercer had to create the class for Vin Diesel. The famous actor was promoting the film The Last Witch Hunter and Geek & Sundry were hosting an one-shot called D&Diesel. The Blood Hunter was created for Diesel's character, but Mercer was only allowed to know what was in the movie's trailer.
